Advanced Tools for Data Exploration in Biomedicine

In this page you can find a set of tools developed by the Lab12 and HARMONY Alliance. They are tools for information management, data visualization and outcome prediction applied to biomedicine and genetics. This includes two distinct groups of tools for public use.

Firstly, tools developed by the Molecular Genetics in OncoHematology group, oriented to help users to perform data managing and visualizing of their own datasets. This includes a Forest Plot for Cox Proportional Hazards Model. Secondly, tools developed by HARMONY Alliance, oriented to data exploration and outcome prediction based on its massive database. HARMONY tools include data exploration tools for AML and ALL, as well as AML Outcome predictor.

Developed Tools

Multivariable Tool

A visualization tool designed to generate a forest plot based on a Cox proportional hazards regression analysis of your own data. Data can be uploaded easily from an Excel file following the template provided. The tool includes options to customize the graph and download it in high quality, making it suitable for inclusion in presentations and publications.

CNV Tool

This tool detects structural variations, such as Copy Number Variations (CNVs), in the human genome from high-throughput sequencing data obtained using targeted sequencing panels (TS). The method is based on the read depth (RD) approach, which assumes that regional coverage correlates with copy number. It includes steps for read mapping, coverage calculation, normalization, and copy number assessment.

ALL Data Exploration Tool

The HARMONY Alliance ALL public dashboard facilitates the exploration of data collected in the HARMONY Data Lake related to this disease. It enables users to uncover new insights, analyze patient cohorts, and identify opportunities for research and collaboration. Additionally, the dashboard enhances the understanding of the clinical and genetic characteristics of ALL patients.

AML Data Exploration Tool

The HARMONY Alliance AML public dashboard has been designed to explore data collected in the HARMONY Data Lake related to this disease. Users can analyze patient cohorts, generate new insights, and identify potential research collaborations. Furthermore, the dashboard provides a deeper understanding of the clinical and genetic characteristics of AML patients.

AML Outcome Predictor after CR1

The HARMONY Alliance Outcome Prediction Calculator provides data-driven predictions to assist clinicians in determining whether AML patients should be considered for allogeneic transplantation, particularly in regions where targeted therapies are not available.
This machine learning model generates individualized outcome predictions for AML patients aged 18-70 years who achieved complete remission but were not consolidated with allogeneic transplantation. This tool is intended only for research purposes, as the algorithm has not been prospectively validated for clinical use.
